09-07-01- The VMA"s (*Video Music Awards*) were last nite at the Metropolitan Opra House in NYC. Backstreet Boys presented the first nominee's of the nite.They had a ride waiting for them after they presenting, because the boys had a show at the Continental Airelines Arena in East Rutherford, NJ. MTV caught up with them while they were goin' to the concert.and the guys talked about what Jamie Fox said on the show. Jamie Fox: " Even AJ from the Backstreet Boys switched it up, He's now going by " Long Island Iced Tea..... You wanna little Champaign or something." They shwed the boys going into the van after presenting the first award. And when Brian went in the van he said " Hey I ran bac and got the uh...bottle of Champaign..." Kevin : " Yeah were gunna give Jamie a beat down later." Nick : " Yeah, Jamie you done messed up. You messed with Backstreet." AJ : " I ain't sayin' a word. I'm like a Stelth, I'll kinda sneak up behind him. If I get pissed off about every single damn little crack that ....I don't give a rat's ass, I really don't, I do not even care" * I just have to say one thing about what this whole thing with AJ and about what Jamie Fox said about AJ and his situation. I think that AJ is such a strong person for coming forward and getting help as soon as he did with his problem.He helped a lot of people get help and I respect him so much for the courage he has.He's been sobber for a long time now and he still is getting counceling.-which is incredible he's able to make time for that since he's on tour ....But he only deserves respect and he deserves the best outta life.And I think its really rude and wrong for someone to make fun of him because he is a human being..Like everyone else. People make mistakes and learn from them. And I'm glad to see AJ is being himself and doing what he loves again!!!!! It is true that Aaron and family were in New York at the time this event took place, Aaron and family are all fine,just in shock at the scale of acts that took place and saying their prayers for those who were so needlessly lost in this tragic event and send out our deepest thanks to those who were working so hard to help others. Nick commented on the incident and this is his side of the story : "It all started when one of my friend's was ejected from the club for being too liquored up." I went out to see what was going on. * A bouncer claims that Nick grabbed him by the neck. And the bouncer wanted to press charge against Nick. "A fight did occur outside the club with a couple of my friend's sometime between midnight and 1 a.m., after a video game was almost tipped over, the manager of the club came out and explained that I was more than welcome to come back into the club, seeing I was NOT actually in the brawl. Then another totally unrelated fight broke out inside the club as I was preparing to leave. I was getting my car from vallet at about 2:30 a.m, when I stopped to talk to a girl regarding a friend we both knew. This is when the officials asked me to get into my car and move on, as they were trying to clear the scene ect. I was not arguing but merely discussing a mutual friend." * But the officers did ask him repeatedly to leave and he didnt see he was doing anything wrong, so he simply questioned " why do you want me to leave?" ** The officers did ask Nick to leave ...but not more then 4 or 5 times.** "The officer did count to three,but very quickly. He was like "Mr.Carter I'm gunna count to three...one,two,three.." "Nick Carter you're under arrest." "So they cuffed me and threw me into the back of the cop car." ....*HE DID CRY* and he WAS scared, he wasn't ashamed of it either. "So I'd been in the back of the cop car for about 1 1/2 hours, I needed the bathroom, so i got out of the cop car and had to use a McDonald's cup to relieve myself in the back of the STRUCTURE"s truck. He opened by playing an april fools joke saying the Backstreet Boys had broken up.He did talk about Nick wanting to do a solo album as well as what they are playing to do for Alex's Bachelor Party. 4-15-02- The Backstreet Boys are planning to shock all their fans with their next album, although a title and release date have not been set. Alex (AJ) said of the new album."It's a whole new direction, we're going to be doing rock, we're going to be doing R&B, we're going to be doing Pop, probably working with Max Martin again hopefully. "The boys will be working with Jermaine Dupri, SoulShock & Karlin, just to name a few. 4-21-02- Nick Carter will introduce his 43-foot offshore racing power boatwith two 750 hose power engines at next Sunday's powerboat racing along the beach.Nick won't actually be racing, his dad Bob Carter will be racing the 130 mph boat in Daytona Beach. Nick and the whole Carter family will be there as Nick sings the National Anthem before the races. 4-21-02- Kevin Richardson's Just Within Reach foundation will award six college scholarships for the 2002-2003 academic year.Three awards of $2,000 will be given to undergraduate students or entering freshmen studying Environmental Sciences and three awards of $2,000 will be given to undergraduate students or entering freshmen studying marine sciences. 08-10-01 - Alex ( AJ ) 's Mom, Denise McLean talked to Connie Chung about her son.Denise said " We started to notice simple things, like trying to go out to lunch, trying to go to McDonald's, It wasn't like you could just go somewhere as mother and son anymore and enjoy the special moment of being with your child." Connie asked "Did people around him change?Did his friends?Did he want just normal friends? Denise said "I think so,He was in love with the entertainment world, he was in love with being "AJ", there were times when he wamted to be Alex and he just wanted to go to the movies-As his notoriody grew, the friends that came around, we used to call them, and still do as the "gloming friends", that attach themselves to him,there was no substance to the friendship, it was not about "him" but "them".Connie then asked Denise, "Alex always had this reputation of being the rebel- the least wholesome of the group,do u think he was trying to hold up that image? Denise then said " That wasn't Alex, that was AJ. AJ is the stage personna. AJ is the bad boy, crazy boy onstage, that makes all these pelvic thrust's that drive all the girl's crazy.
